Raymarine C 120 Using the controls
There will be a maroon and white book near the RADAR named "C - Series Display Operating Guide". Use this book to set up the RADAR.
Set the Range to 3 miles.
- Press the GAIN softkey and set up the display. We will adjust the softkeys from left to right.
- Press the SEA (sea clutter) softkey once - the box will change colour to blue to show it is active.
- Press the SEA softkey several times to toggle through HBR (harbour) OSH (ocean) to MAN (manual)
- Turn the round Rotary control to adjust the SEA to a value of 0.
- Press the GAIN softkey to make it active.
- Press the GAIN softkey a couple of times to toggle to MAN (manual)
- Turn the round Rotary control to adjust the GAIN to values of between 20 and 60, noting the difference it makes to the display.
- Leave the GAIN at a value of about 40.
- Press the TUNE softkey and toggle to manual.
- Turn the round Rotary control to adjust the TUNE to get the most green squares. The best tune will be a value of about 50.
- Turn FTC to OFF, unless it is a rainy day - toggle between off and on and note the difference. See page 132 of the "Reference manual" for a deeper explaination.
- Turn RAIN to OFF, unless it is a rainy day - toggle between off and on and note the difference.
